We patrolled the Petersen Automotive Museum for The Pink Dress Collection benefiting the Komen Los Angeles County. The event is the collaborative effort of many designers and celebrities as well as women impacted by breast cancer to celebrate the Pink Dress as the new symbol for women and breast cancer awareness.
The Pink Dress featured a runway show of cocktail numbers and gowns by famous designers including Adam, Betsey Johnson, Guess by Marciano, Ina Soltani, Juicy Couture, Karen Zambos, Lilly Pulitzer, Nicole Miller, Pamella Roland, Rafael Cennamo, Sue Wong and Tadashi Shoji to name a few.
The dresses were auctioned off at the after-party with proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure for breast cancer research and awareness.

Carolyn Hennesy (Cougar Town and General Hospital) opened the show in a little pink number by Caravan: “This is the little pink dress so I’m wearing a little pink dress. It’s very reminiscent of in a way, kind of a sleek 20′s look. Sequins and a beautiful color, it’s something I might just buy, I want to own, I want to have in my closet.”

This Dalia MacPhee for Dalia Spring 2010 dress was supposed to be worn by Lo Bosworth. We actually saw Lo wearing this dress backstage before the show started.

Beside me is the designer of Carolyn Hennesy’s Caravan dress Claudine Gumbel (L) in a black and white Alicia Olivia dress and Proenza Schouler heels. Claudine started a store on wheels that traveled around the city and sold clothing and accessories.
How she started her line: “We started as a stylist studio where we were working with a lot of different contemporary designers and we still do that, then we started making one of a kind pieces for some of the actresses, actors and musicians that were coming through so everything we make is one of a kind.”
On her plans for Caravan: “We want to expand because we started as a mobile store so we’re going to take that van on the road and we’re going to go from New York to L.A. and visit all the shoes because we love ‘Gossip Girls’ and ‘Cougar Town’ that Carolyn’s on. We want to be able to visit the sets and show the wardrobe department what we have to offer.”
They are based in New York but Claudine says they will raid L.A. within the next six months because they want the “weather to be good.” Can’t wait!

We caught up with the excited Carolyn after the show: “I opened the show. Thank heavens, no one told me that until I was about to go on. It’s very nerve wracking. I tried to channel every runway model I’ve ever seen.”

Carolyn walked the runway earlier this year for the Celebrity Catwalk and now has two modeling for a cause under her belt. “If anyone wants me to walk the runway, let me know. Have feet, will travel,” Carolyn adds.
Other designers in the show: Abiferrin, Binetti, Rozio Couture,Hilton Hollis, Joanna Mastroianni, Venexiana, Kurru Kurru, Luca Luca, Manuel dela Cruz, Nikolaki, Paula Hian, Samora, Terexov, Ysamakino and Zula Studio.
