We patrolled Villa Blanca last night for an exclusive sneak preview of break out designer Christiane King’s collection. We saw a lot of stars who came to celebrate the unveiling with the designer.
Christiane was born and raised in Cote d’Ivoire but after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in International Trade in the City of Abidjan, she felt her heart lied somewhere else. She moved to Paris and then later relocated to Los Angeles.
Christiane graduated with Honors from Woodbury University in Los Angeles with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and received the award for “Best of Couture” on her final collection at the University’s Annuals Gala.
In the Fall of 2006, King launched her first Womenswear collection and has never looked back since.

The designer herself wore a fabulous rose inspired dress with Steve Madden heels. On Christiane’s inspiration for this dress. “Nature is my biggest inspiration. I’ve had a lot of inspiration from calla lily’s lately, so I have chosen to use that satin fabric. It’s like a double face organza that really molds into beautiful lily-like petals for this dress. This dress was inspired by roses,so I really look at nature. It’s so organic in a way that is very flattering.”

Christiane was flanked by models wearing pieces from her collection.
On why she loves color: “I love color. Color is my life. It’s very therapeutic for me to use. Black is really boring and it’s really safe. A lot of people will just go for black – most things look good in black and I just decide to push the envelope and my culture is also very colorful. I’m from the Ivory Coast, it’s summer all year round. People are very colorful. I think I really get that from them.”
Celebrities wearing Christiane King:

Kali Hawk was probably one of the last persons to arrive at the event. The ‘Couples Retreat’ star wore a blue Christiane King sheath dress with purple details on the bodice and metallic pumps.

Katie Gill is pretty in a lovely red strapless Christiane King dress with Bebe heels. For 2010, she will be busy with lots of modeling assignments and her two music videos for the band Ex Japan should be out this year. “They are cool, like I had dark makeup and cute outfit. It was more like gothic but cute and stylish and the other one, I was a geisha. Like, I was dressed in a whole kimono and everything but it was weird because it’s like gothic geisha”
Other celebrities at the event:

Lady Victoria Hervey showed off her tan in a strapless blue number with silver strappy sandals.

Anna Kleinsorge (More to Love) is going have a busy year here and abroad. “I’m busting out with commercial work and print work. She wore a strapless Calvin Klein dress with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and Barbara Bella accessories.

Vail Bloom is the real deal. The very down-to-earth beauty is ready for spring in a see-through top with Rich & Skinny jeans which she accessorized with a $15 multi-color bead necklace and American Rag bracelet. She graciously took off her yellow Velvet Angel pumps to help us with our fashion ID. On what’s in store for Vail this year. “Expect a lot of tv and maybe late in the year, there’s a movie coming out called The Somnambulist, a psychological thriller I shot last summer but you know they take awhile. It’s always funny to see how long it actually takes. I look totally different, you know, like five years younger but whatever.”

“I have a really cool film I’m shooting in Scotland in the spring and I actually got an offer today, so I have a lot of film kind of in the works, says the ‘Paranormal Activity’ star. Ashley Palmer wore a designer dress from a Cincinnati boutique with Wet Seal heels. “I’m from the Mid-West since I love going back home and seeing a lot of creation that are coming out in the Mid-West places – you wouldn’t expect to find creativity like that. I don’t like to wear what I see other people wear, it kind of bores me,” Ashley said.

“I hope to buy a house at the end of this year and just book a couple of great jobs. I’m really looking forward to this year and super excited,” says ‘Sorority’ star Briana Evigan. She wore a cute French Connection jumpsuit topped off with a black jacket she got from a Melrose boutique, Steve Madden shoes and a vintage bag she got from Winnepeg.

It’s no wonder Jayde Nicole was being hounded by her male fans for autographs and pictures at the event. She was just too cute in her short dress she got from Kitson’s which she wore with platform slingbacks.

We will be seeing Anna Maria Perez de Tagle in ‘Camp Rock 2′ which will be out in September. “I hope everyone will love ‘Camp Rock 2′ just like the first one.” The 19-year-old cutie wore a gray Salvage dress, Jessica Simpson heels, Betsey Johnson accessories and a Philip Stein Teslar watch.

For some people, Lorenzo Lamas will always be Falcon Crest’s Lance Cumson but to the new generation, he’s the reality star from ‘Leave It to Lamas.’ Lorenzo arrived on the red carpet with his lady love and even smooched for the paps. On his expectations for 2010: “I am hoping this is a very successful year both for my motorcycle company, Lorenzo cycles and also for the show I’m doing with my daughter, ‘Leave it to the Lamas’ on E! We’re very excited and anticipate a great year.”

We have to say this guy is the coolest! Even if he was being ushered inside, he chose to stay and chatted with the press and even gave the photographers a hug. Rapper and enterprenuer Won-G arrived at the event in style in a white Rolls Royce Phantom and looked sharp in a John Varvatos suit and Salvatorre Ferragamo shoes. On his plans for 2010: “I’m going to Haiti and we all know we just had a major atrocity in Haiti. So, I’ll be there with Wyclef, Bono and Anderson Cooper will be down in Haiti this week and let’s go help the Haitian. That’s my 2010.”
