They all had the same celebrity florist – Kevin Lee. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, who better  to ask about flowers in the day of hearts if not the main honcho himself. We arrived at his lavish L.A. Premiere Studio in W. Hollywood and was escorted into a room with sample display centerpieces for weddings and other lavish events.

Kevin, whom we’ve met last year, is the type of person who leaves an indelible first impression -  he is full of fabulous energy. Garbed in designer duds from head-to-toe including a luxe Audemars Piguet Royal Oak timepiece, the florist-to-the-stars gave the DL on the Valentine’s day premiere, favorite celebrity flowers and the big events he decorated.

“Valentine’s Day”

According to Kevin, “weddings are huge but Valentine’s Day is, like when you love somebody, why not spend on flowers? These days people get chocolates or diamonds and all that but nothing like beautiful flowers. Red is always hot, always in fashion but you know what, you have to mix it with something to make a little spice to it”. The indefatigable florist, who been in the business for over two decades, said that flowers “gives him so much joy in his life”.

For the Valentine’s Day movie premiere, Kevin decorated it with tiger roses. “It’s hot pink with all those stripes, it’s really unusual, it just came out from Columbia and I’m going to use thousands and thousands of tiger roses on Valentine’s Day.”

Kevin showed us some moves he taught Martin Short for his role as Franck Eggelhoffer, a wedding planner from the movie “Father of the Bride II,” a character actually based on Kevin. “He had a “Martin Short” show and we had a lot of shows together and he was really really fun and he would imitate me really really well.”

Celebrities Kevin has worked with:
On Jennifer Aniston’s wedding to Brad Pitt: She is a romantic lady. She loved the white garden roses and it smells so fabulous. It was really sweet and lovely just like her.
Kendra Wilkinson loves lavender roses but during her wedding, Kevin used all white roses but had lavender accents on the tablecloth and some favors.

For Giuliana Rancic’s wedding, Kevin used all red roses for their wedding in Capri, Italy.
Kevin described Christina Aguilera’s wedding as spectacular. “The day of the wedding, we had all white flowers that looked like winter wonderland theme. When you walk into her wedding reception site it was just all white roses, hydrangeas and snow, like it wasn’t real snow, kinda of like fake snow.”

Kevin decorated Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch several times specially during Christmas: “We used a lot different kind of flowers, he didn’t really particularly like the white flowers, he liked the many different colors of flowers. I guess, he was a flower person.”

Major Awards Shows:
The Emmy’s 2009: With the Emmy’s, Kevin used orchids from Hawaii and all over the world. “It was really interesting and very different than any event that I have ever done.”

The Grammy’s 2010: The Grammy’s was really intriguing for Kevin because of the “vintage circus theme”. “It was really colorful – lots of daises, dahlias, many different types of roses.”

And for the Oscars 2010 on March:
Since the Kodak Theatre is mostly orange with burgundy stairs, Kevin will be using a lot of French tulips, amaryllis and dark colored tone of flowers.
