We patrolled a luxurious hotel in Beverly Hills for StyleLab’s exclusive jewelry preview for the 82nd Academy Awards on March 7, 2010. Private appointments with celebrities from “Avatar”,”Hurt Locker”, “Up”, “Precious,” “Star Trek” to select one-of-a-kind pieces from top designers and brands including Neil Lane, Erica Courtney, J.W. Currens, Chad Allison, Mark Lash, Gem Platinum, Cliq Jewelry, The AGTA Spectrum Colletion and Michael M. for them to wear to one of the most watched red carpet events.

We spoke to celebrity stylist and jewelry/style expert Michael O’ Connor who gave us the LD on this Sunday’s event. With the Oscar’s being one of the most formal of all awards shows, Michael says to expect darker jewelry tones. Platinum and diamond jewelry reminiscent of the elegance of Jackie Onassis and Grace Kelly will also be something will be seeing on our favorite stars.

Michael also expects the celebrities to be sparkling from head to toe as they been creative adorning their hairstyle with jewel ornaments like what Rose Byrne did during the Golden Globes putting a platinum and diamond bow pin by Neil Lane as a barrette.
