Elie Tahari (R)
We patrolled the Beverly Hills Fashion Festival for Elie Tahari’s runway show featuring highlights from his Spring 2011 RTW collection recently shown at the New York Fashion Week. Tahari’s collection, which embraced clean and feminine silhouettes in hues of gold, white and khaki, was inspired by classic 70′s American sportswear. The runway show also included fabulous dresses accented with hand beaded sequined detail designed for major red carpet events from the designer’s Holiday collection. Each look was accented with stunning gold jewelry and sophisticated accessories, all by Elie Tahari.
The Beverly Hills Fashion Festival (BHFF) is a fashion, retail and philanthropic experience featuring new and established designers from Los Angeles and around the globe. Proceeds from this show will benefit the Shenkar Fashion College Scholarship Fund.
Elie Tahari is a privately held corporation with a global presence on five continents and in more than 600 US stores. Additionally, Elie Tahari has free standing collection boutiques in cities including Newport Beach, New York, Las Vegas, Boston, Atlanta, East Hampton, Boca Raton and Bal Harbour, as well as stores in the UK, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Korea, and Greece.
We caught up with Elie Tahari after the show and chatted with the designer.
“It was a great show, it came out great and it was for a great cause, it makes you a double happy,” Elie told The Fashion Patrol. Elie considers Shenkar College the best fashion school in the world and chose the Shenkar Fashion College Scholarship Fund in Ramat Gan, Israel to benefit the proceeds of the show. “Shenkar is close to my heart. I love Shenkar…I just think they do a great job, they are just the best.” Tahari actually works with graduates from the Shenkar College.
On showing his collection in Beverly Hills, Tahari said, “It’s Hollywood! It’s glamorous.”
Tahari offers this advice to aspiring, emerging designers:”Do what you enjoy, enjoy what you are doing.”
